Paralegal, Commercial The candidate will be organized, detailed oriented, and an effective communicator. Well versed in the litigation process, eDiscovery, and legal holds, he or she will be responsible for a wide range of projects and litigation matters and will support the claims, compliance, and litigation management responsibilities of in-house counsel. Daily responsibilities will include conducting fact investigations and discovery support work, drafting correspondence and training materials, organizing and managing litigation files, and interfacing with outside counsel and internal stakeholders. Focused on excellent service, this paralegal will approach tasks in a team-first, collaborative mindset. Work collaboratively with in-house counsel to manage all aspects of litigation and regulatory practice, with a focus on commercial litigation support. Oversee and manage responses to subpoenas and other service of process. Conduct claim & case assessments that identify issues for evaluation by in-house and outside counsel. Interface with internal customers and outside law firms. Draft written narratives to communicate obligations, risk analyses, and recommendations to internal customers. Implement legal holds and support litigation team’s eDiscovery processes and systems. Proactively manage commercial docket, demonstrating ownership of issues and strong attention to detail. Conduct fact investigations that include witness interviews and collection of documentary evidence. Manage internal technology and communication portals. Assist in-house counsel in compliance and education efforts, to including drafting of training materials and newsletters, conducting training programs, and managing special projects. Develop expertise in areas of responsibility and legal technology utilized by legal department. Research and implement legal technology tools to gain efficiencies with the legal department.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university. Paralegal Certificate from an accredited Paralegal Program and NALA certification is preferred. Should have 5+ years of litigation support experience in either an in-house legal department or law firm focused, with both preferred. Experience with commercial contract disputes or collections matters preferred.
