Paralegal Responsibilities: Reviewing a wide range of advertising/marketing/publicity materials intended for all media including social media, websites, brochures, trade show materials and print advertising, for legal compliance under the supervision of an attorney. Researching legal and business issues, and provide timely responses to questions from business stakeholders regarding advertising/marketing/publicity issues;. Under supervision of attorney, working with and communicating legal issues succinctly to business stakeholders and following up as needed. Providing formal and informal education and training to business stakeholders regarding best practices and developments in law pertaining to advertising/marketing/publicity. Drafting, based on template agreements, a variety of agreements, including influencer agreements, non-disclosure agreements and intellectual property permissions and licenses;. Preparing, tracking and issuing a wide variety of agreements and communications in connection with management of network of retailers. Preparing and issuing special state filings to support changes in the network. Tracking, managing and storing retailer correspondence and other communications. Providing support for attorneys and business stakeholders on other retail network projects as needed. Handling business license renewals and annual report filings. Performing corporate governance tasks, including, maintaining records;. Updating and creating matters and tasks in the legal matter management system. Tracking new case filings and processing and handling payments and settlements. Performing daily administrative tasks for the attorneys, including filing, scheduling, preparing letters and documents, etc. Assisting on other legal projects as appropriate.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) and paralegal or legal assistant certification. 5+ years of relevant experience. Legal administrative skills and online legal research skills. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. . Strong attention to detail and ability to utilize detail and depth of legal understanding to review and comment on materials. Ability and demonstrated initiative to learn relevant areas of law and work independently. Advanced MS Office Skills. Experience in marketing and advertising review of consumer products is strongly preferred. Experience, preferably in an in-house legal department environment, in reviewing, editing, and drafting various types of agreements, including confidentiality agreements, marketing agreements, and other agreements related to the consumer products industry is ideal. Prior automotive experience or demonstrated interest in auto industry preferred. Schedule: 4 days/week (32 hours)
