Wealth Planning Associate The candidate will work directly with and advise high net worth individuals and their advisors on primarily complex domestic estate and trust planning, including working with owners of private capital and their diverse assets. Must have 4+ years of post qualification experience. Must have strong academic credentials (JD required; LLM is a plus). Must have strong drafting, writing and communication skills. Must have experience drafting complex wills and trusts. Must have strong project management ability; ability to balance a large number of competing priorities. Experience with Excel and PowerPoint is required. The following experience is preferred : Exposure to sophisticated Wealth Planning techniques, such as Family Limited Partnerships, Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, Foreign Grantor Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, Dynasty Trusts, Insurance Trusts, Annual Exclusion Trusts, Directed Trusts, Sales to Defective Grantor Trusts, Buy-Sell Agreements, Decanting and Private Trust Companies; Some knowledge of income taxation of trusts and estates, gift tax return reporting, generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax and Chapter 14 and International experience.
