Legal Assistant - Litigation The candidate will be drafting letters; filing pleadings, motions, orders, etc.; arranging for service of process; scheduling depositions; securing court reporters; ordering medical records; assisting with discovery demands and responses, and assisting the litigation lawyers in any way necessary. Typing skills (60wpm or better) is essential. Must have Microsoft Word knowledge. Phone proficiency is essential. Microsoft Office suite proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint) is preferred. Litigation practice experience is desired. Knowledge of filing documents with county and clerk’s office is preferred. Knowledge of service of process and affidavits of service is preferred. Knowledge of E-filing for all state court and surrogate’s court matters is preferred. Knowledge of federal court filings is essential.
