Legal Assistant The candidate will be responsible for the undertaking of a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Provide clerical support directly to our legal team as well as information management support on company legal matters. Manage paralegal processes related to contract preparation support, provide support for lawyers and contracts specialists on a range of commercial matters, maintain department documents and responsible for document storage, retention and production. Process internal and external requests for legal documentation (e.g., subpoenas, e-discovery, HR-related matters, contracts, etc.) and create new documentation related to ministerial internal matters (regulatory, legal requests, etc.). Assist in creating and streamlining legal department process for managing workflow, tracking of engagements and improving efficiency – acting as a catalyst for productivity. Coordinating case preparation and other matters related to commercial litigation, regulatory processes, etc., including discovery, management of case documents and providing assistance to outside counsel. Assists in reading, researching, reviewing, verifying, and routing correspondence, reports and documents; coordinates preparation of charts, graphs, and preparing expense reports. Maintain attorney calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, dispositions, and travel. Maintain client and company confidentiality. Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Additional duties as required. Work with a fast-growing technology company.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 2+ year’s paralegal or legal administrative experience. An Associates’ degree and/or Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Paralegal or equivalent certification is a plus. Experience with document storage and retention processes is an asset. Knowledge of Windows 7 or higher is needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is needed. Experience in Salesforce is highly preferred.
