This position offers a unique opportunity to handle a variety of complex legal matters in commercial litigation, business law, commercial workouts, and collections. Duties

  • Manage all aspects of litigation cases, including appearances in various courts in Rhode Island and Connecticut.
  • Communicate effectively with opposing counsel and pro se parties to resolve disputes amicably.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Document account and case activity in compliance with firm policies and client requirements.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and formulate opinions based on current laws, rulings, and regulations.
  • Maintain professional client relationships through clear and responsive communication.
  • Stay updated on changes to laws, court rules, and procedures through continued education, seminars, and webinars.
  • Provide mentorship and support to team members and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice in Connecticut and Massachusetts, including admission to Federal Courts.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation and related legal fields.
  • Strong knowledge of state civil litigation processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and leverage team resources to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Superior time management skills to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences, including attorneys and non-legal staff.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate others and drive results.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and listening skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Effective multitasking abilities.
