Attorney Duties: While business law, commercial litigation and bankruptcy law remain critical areas of focus, represent plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of matters involving real estate, construction, estate planning, probate and civil appeals. Will be expected to participate in and oversee written discovery, take depositions, participate in extensive motion practice and oral arguments, and play a role in trials, arbitrations, and other evidentiary hearings in commercial litigation matters.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Admission to the MI Bar. 5-10 years of experience in business, commercial, construction, and real estate litigation in both state and federal courts, as well as 5-10 years of transactional experience in commercial contracts, entity formation, general business matters, real estate transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Must have experience in both commercial litigation and transactions. Must have extensive case management skills. Substantive litigation writing experience (e.g., briefs, memoranda, complaints/answers, discovery). Trial experience preferred. Bankruptcy experience a plus. Outstanding writing and oral advocacy skills. Superb corporate drafting skills and substantial interaction with clients. Willingness and ability to play substantial role in litigations and transactions. Entrepreneurial personality looking to join a growing practice group. Must be collaborative and comfortable in a small group environment.
