Legal Assistant/Paralegal Duties: Will support the attorney with duties and responsibilities that include: setting up and drafting correspondence and legal documents for attorney, drafting lawsuits, Financial Affidavits, Discovery, setting up and drafting Orders, conferring with related parties, keeping schedules, maintaining files, monitoring progress and deadlines, following up to ensure all required actions are completed. Scheduling and managing appointments. Checking in and Greeting Clients. Opening files. Copying documents. scanning documents for electronic file. Basic cleaning duties for small office vacuuming, straightening up waiting area, taking out trash. Answering Phones. Typing Letters. Running errands. Miscellaneous tasks and errands as needed by Attorney. Setting up pleadings.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of an Associate Degree from an approved Paralegal Technology Program through the American Bar Association and 2+ years of experience as a Paralegal or similar position. 2+ years of Law Office experience required. Notary Public required. 2+ years of Law Office experience or other similar experience. Knowledgeable with Computers, Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Professional business dress and appearance is required. Must have excellent customer service skills that include being able to speak well on the phone. Must be a fast learner, independent and able to multi-task. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and work well with computers and technology. Extensive interaction with clients. Excellent interpersonal skills and phone etiquette is required.
