Paralegal Ii – Litigation Support Paralegal The candidate assists the staff attorneys in the Domestic Unit who have primary responsibility for assisting survivors of domestic violence with child custody cases, paternity actions, and actions for dissolution of marriage. Acts as a legal assistant to these attorneys, and the job duties of this position include drafting documents; gathering information and records from third parties; conducting client interviews and assisting clients with their responses to discovery. Fluency in Spanish would be helpful. Responsibilities: Client interviews; drafting pleadings, motions and discovery; assist in gathering information relevant to the client’s case; assist in preparing discovery; communicate with court staff and shelter advocates; perform outreach duties as assigned; assist attorneys in file maintenance; and perform other duties as assigned. Should have Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree or certificate program in paralegal studies. Must have knowledge of legal terminology and legal communication principles and practices; familiar with family law helpful.
