We are seeking a Junior Insurance Defense Attorney to join a law firm in Philadelphia, PA. This full-time position is ideal for candidates with 0-3 years of experience in handling liability defense cases, including commercial trucking, premises liability, and bodily injury claims. Duties:

  • Case Management:

    • Independently manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters from inception to resolution.
    • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.
    • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Client Interaction:

    • Serve as a primary contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication.
    • Advise clients on complex legal issues and provide strategic guidance.
  • Litigation Work:

    • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
    • Conduct discovery, including interrogatories and document review.
  • Coverage Analysis:

    • Perform detailed analysis of insurance policies to determine coverage obligations.
    • Draft comprehensive coverage opinions and position letters for clients.
    • Negotiate and resolve coverage disputes with opposing counsel.
  • Team Collaboration:

    • Mentor and support junior attorneys and staff.
    • Work closely with colleagues to ensure comprehensive handling of cases.
  • Business Development:

    • Participate in marketing and business development activities.
    • Attend industry conferences and networking events to enhance professional reputation.
    • Contribute to thought leadership by writing articles and presenting at events.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and/or Pennsylvania.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in relevant jurisdictions (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania).
