ProfileStaff Attorney – Project Impact Duties: Focus on a broad range of advocacy including litigation and administrative hearings in substantive legal issues across multiple practice areas affecting justice involved individuals and their families. Practice areas will include: termination of professional licenses and appeals, housing, public benefits, consumer, employment, immigration, re-entry, family law and representation in other matters. Conduct trainings for community partners and provide technical support and assistance to Project imPACT partners as needed, both informally and through attendance at regular case management meetings; Provide outreach and education to community groups; and assist with training and mentorship of paralegal staff and law student volunteers.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate will be a skillful attorney who excels in a fast-paced, dynamic anti-poverty law practice and is capable of fiercely advocating on behalf of clients in multiple forums. Must have a demonstrated passion and commitment to public interest law and prior experience serving low-income individuals and client groups, with a sensitivity to those in crisis. Must have strong research and organizational skills; the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing; and well-developed analytical skills. Should be self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.
