Paralegal The candidate will monitor/track proposed and enacted federal, state, and local employment legislation to ensure compliance. Prepare summaries of proposed and enacted legislation and make recommendations regarding the legislation's impact on company. Determine and direct the necessary actions to implement policy/practice changes in response to legislation. Coordinate with business partners in Human Resources, Payroll, and other business units to implement policies/practices and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Assist internal and external legal counsel with gathering documents/information for the purposes of government agency responses and litigation. Gather and prepare information in response to requests/subpoenas from government agencies and third parties. Determine and/or make recommendations regarding responses to document requests and subpoenas. Respond to and resolve customer calls that may involve a legal issue. Investigate and research customer complaints and formulate and deliver an appropriate response. Assist in responding to employment claims. Efficiently track and manage company data and documents in a timely and organized fashion. Organize and maintain case files, pleadings, and other documents. Special projects as assigned. 3 â€“ 5 years experience required. Paralegal Certification desirable.
