ProfileSecurity Counsel The candidate will work on the most exciting legal issues as disruptive technological innovations require creative and proactive legal guidance. Will oversee firmâ€™s response to requests for user data from public safety and similar agencies from around the world as part of firmâ€™s Law Enforcement and Information Security Program in the legal department. Oversee the handling of legal process and requests for user data from government agencies, and work very closely with teams across firm. (Information about how firm responds to such requests is available in the firm Transparency Report). Establish and enforce policies relating to disclosure requests to help advance principles. Communicate with government agencies concerning requirements in particular cases. Work on relevant firm privacy initiative. Support the Public Policy, Legal and Communications teams in handling law enforcement data disclosure issues. Must have Juris Doctorate degree. Must have 3+ years of experience. Experience with the legal mechanisms governing the compelled disclosure of user data by US communication service providers such as the Electronic Communications Privacy Act is essential. Must be admitted to the bar in which position is located and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located. 5+ years of relevant work experience is preferred. Experience working with law enforcement authorities is preferred. General familiarity with international treaty and diplomatic processes is preferred. Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; experience with public speaking and team skills is preferred.
