Attorney I – Icac The candidate under limited supervision, performs all legal work relating to Internet crimes against children. Advise law enforcement agents regarding possible criminal violations. Review law enforcement reports and case information. Advise and assist law enforcement on Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigations. Prepare cases for county grand jury consideration. Prepare appropriate indictments in time to be properly reviewed and approved by the Attorney General. Prepare cases for trial. Seek appropriate resolution of all cases in a timely manner. Make court appearances and trial presentations on behalf of the State of South Carolina and the SC Attorney General's Office. Prepare orders and any other necessary documentation to obtain subscriber information from internet and electronic service providers. Assist in training and making presentations to law enforcement agencies, local community groups, schools or related interest groups on ICAC issues. Respond to citizen inquiries. Performs other related duties as requested by the Attorney General, Chief Deputy Attorney General, and supervising attorney.
Qualification and Experience
A J.D. Degree required. Must be a member and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar. Must satisfy Rule 403 requirements. Should have knowledge of South Carolina laws, general case, statutory and common law; knowledge of judicial and quasi-judicial procedures and rules of guidance. Must have the ability to interpret and apply laws in court decisions and the ability to analyze facts, evidence and legal instruments. Must be able to express conclusions and arguments clearly and logically
