Duties

  • Provide legal counsel and representation in land use and real estate matters, including zoning, subdivision control, and wetlands issues
  • Handle permitting processes and related litigation
  • Represent clients in land use hearings and proceedings before local government agencies
  • Draft and review land use-related legal documents, including applications, petitions, and agreements
  • Collaborate with clients and other legal professionals to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Conduct legal research and prepare written opinions, memoranda, and briefs
  • Assist in real estate transactional work related to land use and development

Requirements

  • 6-8 years of experience in land use law, including zoning, subdivision control, wetlands, and related real estate matters
  • Strong background in both permitting and litigation
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Portables are not required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • A demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality legal counsel

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in Massachusetts (required)
