Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join their dynamic civil litigation team in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will primarily work on defense matters involving large entities and professional liability claims, with a focus on tort and civil rights cases. Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation defense, focusing on tort and civil rights claims
• Litigate commercial, election, or administrative matters as needed
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
• Handle discovery, including depositions and interrogatories
• Attend court hearings and trials
• Maintain direct communication with clients, witnesses, and court personnel
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex cases
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients

Requirements:

• Indiana Bar licensure (passed or pending)
• 0 to 5 years of litigation experience (depending on the candidate's qualifications)
• Previous experience in civil litigation or trial work preferred, though first-year attorneys may be considered
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Admitted to or pending admission to the Indiana State Bar

Certifications:

• Indiana Bar license or awaiting results for Indiana Bar exam

Skills:

• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to draft clear and effective legal documents
• Excellent interpersonal communication for client interaction
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
