Job Overview: A prominent law firm in Greenville, SC, is seeking a seasoned Civil Trial Attorney with experience in defending medical professionals and healthcare facilities in cases involving medical malpractice and nursing home negligence. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focusing on the legal defense of doctors, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare professionals.

Duties:

• Represent healthcare professionals and institutions in medical malpractice and nursing home negligence cases.
• Conduct legal research, draft motions, and engage in case discovery.
• Attend hearings, trials, and mediations as the lead attorney.
• Provide legal advice and counsel to healthcare clients regarding malpractice defense strategies.
• Work collaboratively with a legal team to prepare cases for trial.
• Engage in settlement negotiations when appropriate.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, providing clear communication and updates on case progress.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation, specifically focused on medical malpractice or nursing home negligence.
• Proven trial experience and the ability to handle complex cases from inception to resolution.
• Strong knowledge of medical and healthcare laws.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the South Carolina Bar.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
