Legal Assistant - Litigation Candidate will provide complex executive assistant support to a team of attorneys. Will become an integral part of the department and its successful operation as perform daily tasks including but not limited to creating, filing, styling and formatting various documents, opening new client matters, inputting attorney time on a daily basis, maintaining client files, preparing expense reports and disbursement forms, coordinating meetings and events, maintain calendars, scheduling meetings, producing documents, coordinating travel arrangements, creating presentations, reports and proposals. Interacting internally with the firm members as well as externally with vendors and clients.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Previous legal assistant experience is preferred, however, other work experience or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree may be substituted. Previous assistant experience in Litigation support is also a plus. Exceptional communication and administrative skills, accurate typing skills and proficiency in all Microsoft office products. Must possess excellent judgment, critical thinking skills, high level grammar and proofreading skills as well as technological proficiency to learn technology systems and software utilized through the firm (Carpe Diem, Relativity, NetDocs, Chrome River, EMS, etc.) Must be a self-starter and a team player with outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills. Will demonstrate a professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.

There is a need for training of management staff to be more organized with the work and implement a much more organized working structure. More employees should be hired so that some of the staff does not have to stay in later to work.

Pros : The law firm offers a shuttle service. The environment of the law firm is composed of considerate and employees who do well at the work they perform.
Cons : The law firm really needs to consider hiring more employees for the office. Some of the staff is sometimes asked to work until the later hours. Management lacks in being organized with work.
