Supervisor-Paralegal Services
The candidate provides day–to-day oversight and management of a team of Paralegals and other administrative support of the legal initiatives. Assigns work to employee and volunteer paralegals and maintains a current assessment of all work in progress and the status of such work. Trains, orients, and supports the paralegal staff and administrative support team members of firm policies, procedures, and practices that support the IJP mission. Develops, creates, implements, and is accountable for the “Know Your Rights” presentations and materials used by the paralegal team. Monitors, and continuously improves staff use of a database of managing screenings, KYR materials, and case work. Prepares training materials for the paralegal team and provides training and continuous learning opportunities for the team to optimize their currency in applicable laws and the paralegal profession. Provides coaching, counseling, performance feedback, and, where necessary, discipline to a team of assigned Paralegals and other administrative support team members. Performs other related duties as required.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have an Associate’s degree from an accredited college. Must have possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, four-year college or university. Possession of a current certification of completion of an ABA-approved Paralegal program or equivalent essential. Must have 3+ years of experience working as a paralegal. Previous paralegal experience in a not-for-profit organization essential. Advanced level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: adding developer tab, creating a macro, formatting table style, inserting comments and/or creating a mail merge) essential. Must be fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English.
