Private Equity Paralegal - Summer 2018 Duties: Provide comprehensive support to the firm’s global Private Investment Fund team and be responsible for handling a wide variety of client and team driven tasks. Will also support and maintain the institutional memory of several leading global private investment clients. Assist attorneys in all stages of the fund formation and closing process. Prepare documentation for formation of corporate entities and coordinate filings with corporate service providers. Keep track of entity formations and related corporate documents. Interface with private investment fund clients and investors. Coordinate execution of all legal documents. Coordinate background checks on prospective investors. Assist in the coordination of practice group training events. Conduct research on topics relating to private investment funds. Develop and periodically update content for internal electronic resources, including practice group wikis and databases. Assist attorneys with any inquiries relating to the above tasks.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Must be willing to make a two-year commitment. Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to deliver results with a sense of urgency. Must be collaborative with the ability to leverage resources and tools to accomplish objectives. Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Professional and positive demeanor. Must be able to effectively communicate directly with clients, lawyers, senior management and administrative service providers. A highly qualified and motivated recent college graduate who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to multitask effectively and with the highest personal integrity. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Management needs to consider being more firm with their staff. Having too much leniency creates a hectic work environment where work doesn't get done.

Pros : I've been at this firm for almost a year now and my experience has been O.K. I like the people I work with and management is pretty fun and laid back. They throw a lot of parties for staff during the year and always try to create a fun environment.
Cons : Management can be a little too laid back sometimes. The office can feel a bit immature at times with gossip and other nonsense and management just doesn't seem to care.
