Operations Support Specialist, GS 7 - 9 Duties: Prepare requisitions, purchasing routine equipment, supplies and services, monitor expenditures against budget execution plans, and collect data for budget requests and analyses. Monitor projects for building repairs, and alterations and assists with basic aspects of space planning. Assists with security matters related to employees, facility, computer access, document security, access controls and document reporting issues. Updates asset management systems, performs property inventories, schedules vehicle maintenance, recieves shipments requiring frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, disposition of excess property and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies. Assist in analyzing and evaluating flow of work, devise and evaluate new methods of obtaining needed results in work organization and in various administrative areas. Responds to inquires concerning various administrative matters. Assist in administering Occupational Safety and Health and Workers' Compensation Programs. Assist in setting up training and conference rooms for events and classes. Escort vendors and visitors to CIS floors. Qualifications GS-7: Must qualify at the GS-07 level if possess 1 year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the federal government, which has equipped with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Must have experience performing the following duties: Updating budget data on spreadsheets; compiling data for budget requests; coordinating office moves and telephone service requirements; monitoring usage of government motor vehicles; collecting and analyzing information related to workflow, office procedures and control systems in support of program evaluations; responding to routine questions concerning administrative procedures and requirements and resolving a variety of routine clerical and/or administrative problems. OR May also substitute superior academic achievement for the experience required at the GS-7 level. Must have completed the requirements for a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, class standing in the upper third of a graduating class or major subdivision, or membership in a national scholastic honor society. OR May also substitute successful completion of one year of full-time graduate education for the experience required at the GS-7 level. Must have been obtained from an accredited college or university and demonstrate the skills necessary to do the work of the position. A course of study in business administration, public administration, or related fields is qualifying. GS-9: Must qualify at the GS-09 level if possess 1 year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the federal government, which has equipped with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Must have experience performing the following duties: Monitoring operational activities to ensure they meet compliance requirements; Creating and maintaining systems that track activities within a designated office/program; and Identifying and recommending solutions to administrative problems (for example, human resources, labor relations, security, facilities, procurement, EEO, budget, etc.), and providing advice to staff on established methods and procedures. OR May substitute a Master's degree or 2 full years of graduate education leading to such a degree in any field or a J.D. or L.L.B. degree for experience required at the GS-9 grade level. Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Closing date: 03/19/2018
