A law firm seeks a Construction Associate Attorney with 2-3 years of experience to join its Real Estate Group in Atlanta, GA. This role involves providing comprehensive transactional and litigation support for construction and development projects across various industry sectors. The ideal candidate will have experience with industry-standard agreements and construction disputes, supporting clients in every aspect of project development.

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements.
  • Structure and negotiate Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts for infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Advise clients on claims management, including handling change orders, extra work claims, delay claims, and defect disputes.
  • Support litigation and arbitration matters, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and preparing for depositions, mediations, and hearings.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure comprehensive and high-quality representation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction law, with a focus on contracting and development.
  • Familiarity with AIA and similar industry-standard agreements.
  • Prior experience with litigation or arbitration in construction disputes is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction of the Atlanta office or eligibility for admission.
