Paralegal The candidate will within the legal department and under attorney direction, provides analytical and support services. Will assist attorneys with substantive and procedural legal work. Assists in preparing, reviewing and analyzing legal documents. Analyzes issues and conducts legal research. Assesses and effectively manages all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure activities are in alignment with the bank's and unit's risk appetite and risk management framework. Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions, and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to process information with high levels of accuracy. Knowledge of and ability to store, categorize and update an organization's documents in order to ensure the security, effectiveness and integrity of business information. Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the legal function or department; ability to provide legal consulting, advice and assistance. Knowledge of substantive and procedural law and ability to apply this knowledge to legal negotiation and formal litigation. Knowledge of the contractual and legal matters related to expenditures (consulting services, maintenance, agreements, hardware and software acquisitions, outsourcing, etc.); ability to evaluate, interpret and improve the language used in contractual agreements.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have a university / college degree with 1 year of professional experience and/or successful completion of a formal development program. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
