Job Overview:

A law firm in Newport News, VA, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Real Estate Attorney to join their team. This role involves drafting and reviewing contracts, advising clients, negotiating terms, and resolving disputes related to residential real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will have a solid residential real estate law background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality legal services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Draft and review contracts for purchasing and selling residential properties, including title searches, inspections, disclosures, contingencies, and closing documents.
• Advise clients on their rights and obligations under contracts, potential risks, and liabilities.
• Negotiate terms with sellers, buyers, agents, lenders, appraisers, inspectors, and title companies.
• Resolve disputes arising during or after transactions, including breach of contract, fraud, misrepresentation, title defects, boundary disputes, easements, liens, foreclosures, and evictions.
• Build brand awareness and recognition through direct marketing, client events, and meetings.
• Stay updated on laws, regulations, and trends affecting residential real estate in Virginia.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and paralegals to complete timely and client-focused transactions.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Virginia.
• Minimum of 2 years of residential real estate experience in a law firm or in-house setting, focusing on transactions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts and documents.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• High professionalism and integrity, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Virginia.

Skills:
