Staff Attorney The candidate responsibilities include to: Senior attorney â€” Supervision of staff attorneys, work with Executive Director to develop appropriate cases, help develop legal theories, play a major role in the litigation; Staff attorneys â€” Work on legal research and the development of legal theories; Research specific areas of child welfare practice and law to identify the areas in which litigation-based reform is necessary; Work on developing and implementing intensive, fact-based litigation, and in monitoring court-ordered reforms; Analyze and compile child welfare data and initiate and remain in contact with stake holders in specific geographic regions throughout the country, in consultation with the Executive Director.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must be Graduate from ABA-accredited law school. Admission to the bar in any jurisdiction is needed. Should have 10 years experience in federal court litigation; Attorneys should have 3 years litigation experience and excellent writing skills. Knowledge of child welfare systems is desirable.
Senior attorney 10 years of federal court litigation experience for senior attorney applicants.
Staff attorneys 3 years of litigation experience for staff attorney applicants.
