Paralegal II The candidate will assist Staff Attorney in preparation for and trial of litigation matters involving the bank and assist in coordination with outside counsel as may be retained. Will conduct research on customer accounts, business documentation, tax liens, garnishment, subpoenas etc. as required. Assist with review and approval power of attorney documents submitted. Assist with review of account opening documents for guardianship, conservatorship, and custodial fiduciary accounts. Assist with Collections: Investigate public records for information about debtor's financial status and current location, including real estate records and prior judgments; maintain spreadsheets for payment agreements; draft introduction letters to debtors and gather documents to prepare for filing suit as necessary. Work with legal department to develop and maintain a departmental Records Management system, including desk procedures for: file opening, file maintenance, archiving, retrieval and destruction. Gather information, analyze and prepare various reports as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by In-House Counsel and/or Staff Attorney. Should have proficiency in Windows-based PC skills (Microsoft Office) is required, especially Word and Excel. Must have effective Communication. Must have 4+ years of experience in legal practice with civil litigation experience. 4+ years in financial services industry is preferred. Associate of Science Degree in Paralegal Studies and/or certification in Paralegal Studies is required.
