Job Summary: BDO is seeking a Managing Director to join its Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Practice. As the Privacy Technology Leader, you would be responsible for developing the practice area’s growth strategy, driving immediate growth, and managing an onshore and offshore team. We seek a highly dynamic and client-facing professional with experience building a consulting practice area and service lines. ## Job Duties: - Develops and executes against the Privacy Technology three-year growth strategy - Identifies key corporate clients and generates revenue to exceed budget projections while maintaining profitability - Collaborates with other practice area and service line leaders to drive up/cross-selling with long-term clients - Originates sales, develops, and executes sales strategies, and works with business development professionals to identify and expand relationships and accounts - Coordinates with the business development team to develop and integrate the proper tools to introduce the GRC team to prospects - Scales existing Privacy Technology team and establishes future plans for staffing and growth - Develops go-to-market strategy with other leaders to integrate Privacy Technology offerings into managed services, healthcare compliance, financial services compliance, among other market concentration areas - Mentors project leaders and employees to enable their professional development and continued growth - Develops standardized metrics, methodologies, and other work product to be delivered by client project teams - Oversees business development and delivery of engagements related to Privacy Technology implementations, integrations, and configurations; privacy by design; Software / Solution Development Lifecycle (SDLC) integration; privacy source code analysis; website and application compliance; and Privacy Technology training and adoption - Develops and deploys methodologies to advise clients on integrating data protection by design principles to the SDLC, including requirements elicitation, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing administration and maintenance - Develops and deploys methodologies to advise clients on applying consent models to cookies, pixels, beacons, and other tracking technologies for websites and mobile applications - Develops and deploys website scanning strategies and technologies; recommends and implements technical measures to support compliance with consent and preference management obligations - Develops integration strategies between privacy technologies and privacy-adjacent solutions such as those used by Human Resources, Enterprise Architecture, Analytics, Marketing, and other business functions - Develops and deploys anonymization, pseudonymization, and encryption capabilities to support privacy obligations - Conducts/leads client interviews, ensures that the team develops appropriate pre-meeting materials and conducts background research, and mentors other team members on client environments - Builds relationships with other BDO professionals, cross-sells into different industries, and participates in BDO and industry events where subject matter expertise is requested - Delivers on and manages US and global proposal, RFI, and RFP development and responses - Interacts with BDO team members in the US and within global member firms to ensure client needs are met - Ensures clients are provided high-quality services from all levels of the team and provides an appropriate level of oversight and review of client reports and deliverables - Oversees the development of project and resource plans, reporting and metrics, and client communications - Institutes BDO methodologies to drive consistency on project delivery - Other duties as required ## Supervisory Responsibilities: - Manages the Privacy Technology onshore and offshore team and sets expectations, provides feedback, and delivers mid-year and annual feedback - Mentors BDO professionals within the GRC team - Reviews and oversees engagement budgets and identifies the appropriate level of staff required to execute - Evaluates team members’ performance and develops goals and objectives to enhance professional development - Delivers periodic performance feedback and completes performance evaluations in accordance with Firm guidance - Acts as a leader, and projects a professional, positive attitude toward client and firm personnel ## Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: ### Education: - Bachelor’s degree, required - Master’s degree, Juris Doctorate, MBA, or LLM, preferred ### Experience: - Ten (10) or more years of consulting experience, required - Seven (7) or more years managing large, complex Privacy Technology, or similar engagements, required - Five (5) or more years managing global engagements and teams, required - Three (3) or more years originating and winning $3M or more in sales annually, required - Experience with managing global data privacy and protection engagements, required - Experience with global privacy regulations, such as EU GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act, among others, required ### License(s)/Certification(s): - CIPM, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, FIP, CDPSE, MIT xPro, or other similar certifications, preferred - Certifications in one or more privacy program management solutions, such as OneTrust, TrustArc, WireWheel, BigID, Microsoft Priva, or others, strongly preferred ### Software: - Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills, required - Knowledge and/or experience with Google Tag Manager, Tealium, Adobe Analytics, and other Tag Management platforms, required - Knowledge and/or experience with database systems, software development lifecycle, and technology operations, required - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Visio
