Job Overview

A law firm seeks a talented and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its corporate immigration team. This position, based in Framingham, MA, offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to manage a substantial caseload of complex immigration matters. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in employment-based immigration law, including handling petitions and applications for both corporate and sports clients. This is a hybrid position, with an office presence required at least three days a week.

Duties

  • Immigration Case Management:
    • Manage a wide variety of immigration petitions and applications, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, PERM, EB-1, I-140, I-485, and more.
    • Oversee cases at all stages of the immigration process, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and deadlines are met.
    • Proactively identify case issues, communicate with clients, and propose solutions.
  • Client Relations:
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear and consistent communication.
    • Address client inquiries regarding case status, processing times, and next steps.
    • Prepare customized reports to update clients on the status of their cases.
  • Legal Analysis & Document Drafting:
    • Assess eligibility for . visa status for foreign national employees.
    • Counsel clients through the PERM Labor Certification process and subsequent immigration filings.
    • Draft complex support letters, responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), petitions, and legal memoranda.
  • Collaboration & Case Review:
    • Work closely with the Practice Area Manager to review cases, draft documents, and respond to RFEs.
    • Provide feedback and guidance to paralegals on casework and assignments.
  • Education & Communication:
    • Draft client alerts and newsletters on legal updates and trends within the immigration field.
    • Assist with training new employees on established administrative procedures and processes.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of employment-based immigration law experience.
    • Prior experience with corporate and sports client immigration petitions is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to manage a high volume of cases and prioritize effectively.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.
    • Excellent time management and task delegation abilities.
    • Professional conduct and discretion in handling sensitive matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar Association.

    • In-depth knowledge of employment-based immigration petitions, such as H-1B, EB-1, PERM, and I-485 processes.

    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage client expectations and maintain clear communication.
