Fellowships Fellows will work on assignments including research, writing, client interviews, community education and outreach. Fellows receive guidance and mentoring from experienced Legal Services staff attorneys. Assists low income individuals living with HIV/AIDS with legal problems including employment discrimination, unfair health care debt collection, bankruptcy to discharge medical debt, public benefits, permanency planning, and custody documents for legal dependents including guardianship, joint custody or adoption. Law student fellows provide important assistance to attorneys including interviewing clients and witnesses, drafting legal documents, discovery and briefs, and conducting research and investigations. Law student fellows have frequent opportunities to attend strategy sessions, hearings, mediations, depositions, and community events. Fellows should have demonstrated commitment to public interest work and a strong academic background. The following funds are available to establish Law Student Fellowships: $5,000 funds a Law Student Fellowship in name for one semester. $10,000 funds a Law Student Fellowship in name for two semesters.
