Legal Counsel III, RTG Legal The candidate will provide legal advice and counsel to the Interventional Pain and Brain Modulations business units within RTG. Will provide legal support for all aspects of these business units. Responsibilities include advising on sales and marketing programs; drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of strategic collaboration and business development agreements; and advising on FDA law, business ethics/conduct, anti-kickback, other federal healthcare laws, reimbursement, employment law, antitrust law, litigation, and dispute resolution issues. Exact scope of duties will vary depending on candidate qualifications and business unit needs. Ivolves frequent contact with business leadership and other personnel in a variety of functions to provide strategic legal advice and assess compliance with legal and corporate policies. Advise and counsel business clients on a wide variety of legal issues. Represent the Legal function at business unit leadership meetings. Negotiate and prepare strategic collaboration and business development agreements. Provide strategic advice on sales practices and marketing programs and supervise paralegals in the review of advertising, promotional, and product training materials. Drive legal and compliance elements of various projects that support the strategic objectives of the business. Identify and manage internal and outside legal resources as required to provide high-quality legal services at a reasonable cost. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Juris Doctor degree from a nationally recognized law school. Must have 8+ years of experience working in a large law firm and/or in-house for a corporation. Must have 5+ years of experience working with advising corporate clients on a variety of complex commercial issues and/or commercial contracts. In-house corporate attorney experience is preferred. Experience in the medical device industry is preferred. FDA law and anti-kickback experience is preferred. Experience working with HIPAA, Privacy, and Data Protection requirements is preferred.
