Internship Program, Winter 2018 The candidate will work with the Spanish Language/Ethnic Media Internship. Ethnic Media interns learn many of the basic communications skills it takes to work at a progressive nonprofit from a front-row seat. They are involved in all core activities of the Press team and are assigned day-to-day activities to help integrate them into the work. Ethnic Media interns must be fully bilingual and have the ability to compose or translate original organization products, press releases, statements and advisories into Spanish and conduct research in both languages. Interns also help monitor news stories, compile news clips, develop targeted press lists, staff organization events, assist with preparing interview briefing materials, shadow expert interviews on TV and radio, and much more. Social media experience is preferred. Other duties may include conducting targeted research and attending policy team meetings, congressional hearings, panels, and events. The Ethnic Media intern is also expected to help the Press team with day-to-day activities. Law students are considered. Note: Part-time students are accepted, but interns must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week. Duration: January - March
