Director Of Global Privacy The candidate will be responsible for the organization's global privacy program including but not limited to program development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures, monitoring program compliance, and adherence to global privacy requirements and standards. Duties : Builds and maintains a strategic and comprehensive global privacy program that defines, develops, and implements policies and processes that enable consistent, effective privacy practices that minimize risk and ensure the confidentiality of protected information across all media types. Works with senior management, IT security, and committees to establish governance for the privacy program. Collaborate with the IT security team and other leaders as necessary to ensure enterprise-wide alignment between security and privacy compliance programs including policies, practices, and investigations. Serves in a leadership role for global privacy compliance. Responsible for implementation of and compliance with GDPR requirements and any other region/country-specific privacy requirements. Performs or oversees initial and periodic information privacy risk assessment/analysis, mitigation, and remediation. Takes a lead role to ensure the organization has and maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consents, authorization forms, and information notices and materials reflecting current organization and legal practices and requirements.Participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing training and compliance monitoring of the organization’s obligations under HIPAA, to ensure all requirements and other responsibilities are addressed. Initiates facilitates and promotes activities to foster privacy awareness within the organization. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures for investigating and acting on privacy and security complaints and incidents; supports the organization are required. Maintains current knowledge of applicable global, federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards. Works with leadership and under the direction of the Global Privacy Officer and General Counsel to represent the organization's information privacy interests with external parties (state or local government bodies) who undertake to adopt or amend privacy legislation, regulation, or standards. Serves as an information privacy resource to the organization regarding the release of new products and services and to all departments for all privacy-related issues. Willingness to collaborate with all organization personnel with any aspect of the processing of personal information to ensure coordination with the organization’s policies, procedures, and legal requirements; this includes the rollout of technologies to support these efforts.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have Law degree from an accredited law school and admission into at least one state bar. Should have 10 years of legal experience, with at least seven years in global privacy and regulatory matters. Should have sound technical expertise on privacy risk; general knowledge of foundational requirements of privacy laws and best practices in the United States, Europe, and other regions (e.g. Asia, Europe, and/or South America). Must have experience providing strategic legal support to ensure compliance readiness by an organization and experience managing a global privacy compliance program for a business unit/functional department. Working knowledge of OneTrust is a plus. Should have people management expertise and ability to manage team members who are remote.
