Senior Counsel, Delivery-Regulatory
The candidate will serve as a front-line attorney approaching this role with an experienced perspective and a demonstrated record of success at crafting creative solutions to novel and complex legal problems. Provide guidance that reflects both acute legal and strategic analysis, as well as an appreciation of company's short- and long-term delivery goals. Soak-up the quickly developing regulatory frameworks surrounding the delivery of food, consumer goods, groceries, and other products, so as to help company successfully navigate these various considerations. Engage directly with regulators and policymakers to proactively position company for success, reactively respond to regulator interest or inquiries, and help shape the regulatory framework governing company's delivery efforts. Proactively identify and resolve issues impacting the varied and layered set of company's Delivery businesses, often through developing and advancing own proposed solutions. Engage and negotiate with partners, with full-view integration of risk and legal controls in commercial agreements. Ensure compliance with regulations applicable to operating company's delivery efforts, and craft effective measures for internal and external compliance, including through engaging with industry coalitions and policymakers. Collaborate closely with colleagues on other legal teams, such as Litigation, IP, Privacy & Security, Antitrust and Marketing to provide comprehensive advice and solve legal problems quickly. Collaborate closely with our Policy and Communications team as we advance creative regulatory approaches. Review product features and programmatic initiatives to ensure safety and legal risk are factored into all relevant decisions. Create and implement policies and practices to ensure consistent implementation of legal guidance. Should have J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state. Must have 8 years of legal experience in private practice, government and/or in-house. Should preferably have Experience in offering guidance to or with technology companies. 2 years of in-house experience is highly preferred. Experience counseling in a regulated industry across multiple markets, interpreting and delivering clear, actionable guidance for clients is desired. Should preferably have experience and high comfort level in advising on a wide range of legal issues related to technology and/or software platforms.
