Sr. Contracts Manager
The candidate's responsibilities include, providing leadership and development of Contracts staff, reviewing request for proposals, supporting proposal submittals, leading contract negotiations, managing complex programs and agreements, and formalizing contractual documents. This is a highly visible role that will have frequent interface with Business and Corporate level executives and reports on a solid-line basis to the CBU and on a dotted-line basis to Corporate Contracts. The individual will serve as the primary point of contact with Corporate Contracts on contract matters and will support Corporate Contracts with various Corporate-sponsored initiatives and projects. Relocation assistance will be available. Lead and manage all aspects of the Contracts function across multiple business units including developing standard processes & procedures & cross training of contract staff to effectively support the needs of the overall CBU; Supervise contracts personnel within the CBU, including assigning workloads, setting priorities, providing leadership and development, and conducting performance reviews. Draft, review, negotiate, and execute a broad range of contracts and agreements, including, but not limited to: Nondisclosure Agreements; Sales Representative, Distributor and Consultant Agreements; Master Supply and Licensing Agreements; Domestic and International Sales Contracts; Federal, State and Local Municipality Contracts; Aptitude to strategically evaluate proposals, negotiate terms and conditions, and identify and mitigate risk. Provide interpretation of terms and conditions to management and other functional disciplines along with any associated risk. Ability to build positive internal/external customer relationships and work cross-functionally to support financial goals and objectives of the businesses. Mature judgment, proactive involvement in strategic issues and problem resolution skills are required. Possess the ability to multi-task routine and complex contract and proposal activities while responding to unplanned quick response requirements as they emerge. Act as the point of contact for internal and external (customer) communications on contractual matters. Ensure compliance with Corporate Legal and Contracts policies and procedures, and customer/contractual requirements.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate ‘must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline is required. Desired Education: Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Juris Doctor (JD); Should have a minimum requirement of at least ten (10) years of directly relevant experience in a Contracts management position. Should have significant experience and expertise in commercial contracting, both domestic and international. Preferred experience with contracting in the markets and industries served by the CBU, such as scientific laboratory instrumentation, field & facility instrumentation in water, air and oil & gas industries. Should have superior negotiation skills with demonstrated proficiency and experience in negotiating complex customer terms and conditions. Should have demonstrated business acumen with experience in developing innovative solutions and a successful record of problem-solving.
