A law firm in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a Financial Services Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will have exceptional academic credentials, substantial law firm or clerkship experience, and superior problem-solving, writing, and communication skills. This position requires significant experience in litigation related to commercial real estate, distressed loans, and financial instruments, including debt and security instruments and creditor and lender liability. Proven courtroom experience, including taking and defending depositions, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex financial services litigation cases involving commercial real estate, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, and creditor and lender liability.
• Oversee all phases of litigation, including taking and defending depositions, managing discovery, and preparing witnesses.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Appear in court to present evidence, argue motions, and manage trial proceedings.
• Conduct detailed legal research and analysis to support case strategies and legal arguments.
• Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation and arbitration.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop and implement effective case strategies.
• Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Missouri Bar.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant litigation experience or substantial clerkship experience, with a focus on financial services, commercial real estate, and distressed loans.
• Demonstrated experience in taking and defending depositions and managing courtroom activities.
• Strong academic credentials with proven problem-solving and communication skills.
