Senior Counsel / Manager - IT and Cybersecurity The candidate will provide primary legal counsel to, and lead a small team of attorneys supporting, firmâ€™s Information Technology and Security (IT&S) Division. Will advise the IT&S Division, including the Chief Information Security Office, in regards to technology-related legal matters with a particular focus on risk-based advising and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including cybersecurity regulations. Lead and develop a small team of attorneys partnering with Vanguardâ€™s IT&S Division to understand their challenges and opportunities, anticipate their needs and provide exceptional legal counseling. Proactively identify solutions to enable the IT&S Division to accelerate their growth through continuous consultation, persuasion and influence. Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop, implement and maintain global policies and processes relating to technology and cybersecurity. Maintain current and up to date knowledge of applicable US and international cybersecurity laws, rules and regulations (and other laws, rules, and regulations impacting Vanguardâ€™s IT&S Division), as well as monitor emerging cybersecurity trends to ensure company adaptation and compliance. Participate as needed in incident response and drive improvements to incident monitoring, reporting, internal coordination and prevention efforts. Draft and negotiate, as applicable, various legal documents and items of legal significance, as necessary, such as regulatory filings, contracts, memoranda, position statements, correspondence, and other documents and instruments. Where appropriate, select outside counsel to represent Vanguard and manage, coordinate, oversee and supervise the work being performed by such outside counsel; and review and evaluate outside counsel invoices. Must be a Graduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Must have Law degree (J.D. Degree or equivalent). Must have 10 years of legal experience, including substantial experience in information technology and security.
