Part-Time Lecturer. CC
The candidate will under general supervision, conduct classes in subject fields (as listed above) using methods that: Result in student attainment of learning outcomes; Address the learning needs of the college’s diverse students; Integrate thinking and writing skills onto course content, as appropriate; Use multimedia resources, including computers, where appropriate. Classes may be offered in the evenings and on weekends or may involve distance education. Instructors are also required to: Participate in student and peer evaluations and self-assessment of teaching effectiveness; and Provide a minimum of one office hour per week via online web conferencing for each face-to-face course taught, or to respond promptly to course-related student inquiries within 24 hours, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, for each online course taught. An instructor of a face-to-face course may substitute prompt email responses in lieu of web conferencing office hours.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Law degree and experience working with or as a paralegal and member in good standing of the Hawaii State Bar, OR Bachelor’s degree in paralegal and 3 years of related work experience; OR Any Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related work experience, and recognized post-baccalaureate paralegal certificate; OR Any Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related work experience. Successful community college teaching in terms of student learning outcomes is desired. Experience in integrating writing, technology, and thinking skills into teaching is preferred.
