Editor, IC 09 The candidate will be responsible for: Serving as an editor assisting authors and subject-matter experts (SME) in the development, writing, and editing of documents. Editing complex analysis and recommendation documents encompassing various types of disaster information. Reviewing and editing response documents related to requests for damage assessments. Editing manuals and plans prepared by SMEs. Reviewing, editing, rewriting, and reorganizing materials to ensure information is presented in a clear, concise, and logical form. Traveling is required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have the following qualifications:
For IC-9 ($53,137) level, Must have full year of specialized experience equivalent to the IC-7 level in federal service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of the following specialized experience: Serving as an editor in a professional environment assisting authors and Subject Matter Experts (SME) in the development, writing, and editing of documents that support organizational objectives and initiatives. Creating user documentation for a variety of materials, including standard operating procedures, how-to guides, memos, articles and response to information requests from internal and external stakeholders. Using software programs such as MS Office, Adobe Professional, and desk-top publishing programs to support document development.
A Master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D.), or
At least two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a related field.
