Litigation - General (consumer)
Litigation Paralegal Duties: Assist with preparation of legal cases that may eventually go to trial or mediation. May be called upon to assist with a variety of aspects of the legal process including preparation of the case, including electronic discovery, through any post trial appeals process. Frequently serve as the point person for trial, acting as a liaison between the trial lawyer and all other parties involved in the case.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certification required. Should have a familiarity with local courts and administrative agencies, including procedural rules, particularly rules governing filings, service and submission to include E-Filing. Should also have experience with litigation software and an aptitude for training on new systems; excellent written/oral communication skills; strong attention to detail; excellent editing skills, including proofreading and cite-checking; and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Windows 7/Word 2010) and discovery software such as Relativity. Should display a high level of professionalism, reliability and have the ability to work well on a team and with personnel at all levels.
