Duties

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on litigation and client advisory matters, including employment law, investigations, student discipline, and special education.
  • Provide legal guidance to public and private educational institutions, addressing day-to-day legal issues and challenges.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and client counseling.
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and responses to discovery requests.
  • Handle administrative agency complaints and work with regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training programs for clients and providing professional development support.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Missouri.
  • An additional Illinois license is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience, with a focus on education law, public sector law, or employment law preferred.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Exceptional ability to develop and present well-reasoned legal arguments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Aptitude for public speaking and delivering presentations.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Missouri State Bar (Illinois Bar is a plus).
