Job Overview: A premier law firm is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Attorney specializing in life sciences to join their Intellectual Property practice group. The attorney will handle multiple high-level legal matters related to life sciences, from inception to resolution, with a focus on advancing intellectual property litigation. This role requires a candidate with strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a strategic mindset. Duties:

  • Manage multiple legal matters in various stages of progression, focusing on intellectual property law
  • Provide strategic legal advice and high-quality legal work for clients
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients, both orally and in writing
  • Actively participate in the development of client matters, including decision-making and strategy
  • Delegate tasks to support staff and junior associates, ensuring client satisfaction
  • Maintain high ethical standards and comply with all professional responsibilities
  • Assist in business development efforts through both group and individual initiatives

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm or clerking
  • Experience handling intellectual property matters, particularly in the life sciences field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Licensed to practice law in good standing in one or more jurisdictions
  • Registered to practice before the USPTO

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (required)
  • . or Master’s degree in a Life Sciences discipline (highly preferred)
  • Expertise in immunology, genetics, molecular biology, and/or pharmaceuticals (preferred)

Certifications:

  • Licensed attorney in good standing in one or more . jurisdictions
  • Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

Skills:

  • Strong decision-making and leadership abilities
