Bilingual Legal Assistant Candidate will manage multiple tasks and clients with professionalism and translate both oral and written communications with complete accuracy. Will be responsible for researching, compiling, comparing, and organizing legal documents for the firmâ€™s lawyers. Will be responsible for assisting and translating for lawyers. Employee will interact with clients and attorneys daily. Accurately translate oral communications between the client and the attorney, on the spot, while taking extreme care to communicate the exact messages from attorney to client, and vice versa, word for word. Read through original material and rewrite it in the target language, ensuring that the translation is accurate and the meaning of the source text is fully retained; Maintain a positive relationship with clients while keeping their cases moving forward. Maintain knowledge about case load and the various statuses of each case. Manage exhibits submitted into evidence. Interact with officers, court staff, and other professionals. Draft a variety of legal documents including trial briefs, memoranda, letters, and orders. Draft concise, well-researched memos, briefs, and other legal documents. Keep abreast of changes in the law. Review cases of pending litigation. Prioritize work to meet deadlines. Update job knowledge by seeking educational opportunities and reading professional publications. Accomplish law firm goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Must have 6+ months of office experience and will be able to speak and write fluently in both languages. Fluency in Spanish and English; ability to accurately translate both written and oral communications; skill in the areas of research, administration, customer service, organization, and planning; attentiveness to detail; dependability; dedication to excellence; and commitment to client confidentiality and confidentiality of law firm information and communications within the firm.
