ProfileLegal Assistant / Floater Candidate will cover Reception lunches and breaks from time to time. include all tasks related to this position: Quality and timely work product turnaround. Reliable, honest, dependable; Foresight; ability to ask the right questions; Assist paralegals in the client intake process using Amicus and TABS3; Draft basic pleadings like Notice of Appearance, Confirmation of Joinder, Complaint outlines, etc., file these pleadings with the local courts and perfect service appropriately; Draft skeleton discovery responses; Review email chains you are copied on and cull appropriate information (save and rename attachments, update email addresses, change of address, additional party, contact information, dates to be calendared, etc.) and update Amicus accordingly; Calendar Case Schedules and appropriate reminders; Receive work from attorneys/paralegals and know to scan, name, save, and mail/email/courier out various pleadings and legal documents; Review and follow-up on client deadlines and calendar appointments; and Exhibit growing knowledge of overall litigation process. Will be assigned to two attorneys and will float as a legal assistant throughout the firm as needed.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 5 years’ litigation experience, be detail-oriented, a true team player, a problem-solver and motivated to take on increasing responsibility in fast-paced litigation practice. Familiarity and comfort with technology is a must. Must be resourceful, independent and motivated with excellent communication skills. Must be able to effectively manage a high stress workload. Consistently at work and on time; arrive at meetings and appointments prepared and on time; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Respond promptly to attorney, paralegal and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments; Follow instructions; complete tasks on time; commit to the hours necessary to complete assignments; work independently, ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent; Approach others in a tactful manner; treat others with respect; react well under pressure; Contribute to building a positive team spirit; support everyone’s efforts to succeed; and advanced PC skills and display a growing technical knowledge.
