The candidate will assist with litigation and regulatory matters in the U.S. and outside the U.S., including responding to lawsuits, demand letters, investor complaints, subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, examinations and investigations. Prepare substantive responses and defenses; engage in document collection and review; organize and analyze information necessary for defense; and supervise outside counsel. Will assist with insurance-related matters. Assist with claims filed on behalf of firm's funds in securities class action settlements, and assist in the oversight of a third party claims filer. Analyze foreign securities action opportunities and U.S. class action opt-out solicitations for which firm's funds and clients may be eligible to participate as plaintiffs. Take responsibility for understanding and providing practical guidance on various global privacy and cybersecurity laws and regulations that apply to firm's; address privacy-related questions from business partners; provide advice to the contracts team on appropriate privacy-related provisions; and assist with data breach incident analysis. Respond to client requests, including RFP and due diligence questions, for information about firm's's litigation and regulatory history. Participate in client due diligence meetings to discuss litigation and regulatory matters. Assist with intellectual property matters, including trademark disputes and cease and desist letters. Conduct legal research, primarily on U.S. issues, as necessary to provide legal advice or assist other firm's attorneys. Take on special projects, as needed, in areas that may require mastery of U.S. and non-U.S. legal and regulatory requirements. Assist in the preparation of materials for the meetings of the various Boards and Committees of firm's, its subsidiary companies and/or its fund complexes. Work collaboratively with, and oversee certain work of, paralegals and other firm's Legal staff.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate Degree. Should preferably have 5-7 years of experience as an attorney working in part on securities litigation and regulatory enforcement matters either in a law firm or in a corporate legal department. Past exposure to investment companies or asset managers preferred. Must be a member in good standing of the Bar and maintain good standing for all necessary license(s) and/or professional qualifications. An understanding of business operations and practices, procedures and controls specific to the business units supported is required. Must be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to develop proficiency in firm's systems as required to perform the duties of this position. Must be able to conduct on-line research and to utilize applicable tools.
