Profile

Contract Manager The candidate will be reporting to the Director of Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing, the incumbent in this position is responsible for independently managing a team of four (4) contract analysts and is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the procurement contracts unit. Ensures that contract analysts are appropriately trained in all aspects of the procurement contract review process, the functionality of Total Contract Manager, our contract repository, and any other aspects of our contract management process as needed. Ensures that the procurement contracts unit has effectively reviewed all procurement contracts and ensures that any and all terms and conditions contained therein, and appropriate policy, procedure and legal & risk management issues have been properly addressed. Assigns procurement contracts to contract analysts for review and directly handles more complex, high-level supplier negotiations. Identifies and makes recommendations to University Procurement Services management to execute changes to agreements and processes where appropriate. Serves as the customer service liaison for the procurement contracts unit and participates in customer and supplier meetings as needed.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration, purchasing, supply chain management or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Should have 5+ years of contracting and sourcing experience. Juris doctor degree, master’s degree and/or paralegal experience in a higher education procurement environment is preferred. Must have the ability to work independently and must have strong problem solving skills and strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to foster relationships while maintaining compliance with policies and procedures. Experience in working with automated purchasing system is preferred.
