Vice President, Risk Management The candidate will serve as the primary resource for the establishment of standards and policy for the evaluation of risk. Will conducts periodic and ongoing auditing and monitoring activities of Firm Health System (Firm) business facilities to measure, assess and identify areas of risk exposure. Works closely with Firm quality and patient safety personnel. Develops and oversees department operating budget in addition to insurance expense budgets for Firm facilities. Develops annual goals and objectives for the risk management program in concert with Firm Values. Directs self-insurance and commercial insurance programs and negotiates insurance contracts. Develops annual goals and objectives for the risk management program in concert with Firm Values. Develops and oversee department operating budget in addition to insurance expense budgets for Firm facilities. Develops risk management education and training programs, policies and procedures, and liability mitigation plans. Directs self-insurance and commercial insurance programs and negotiates insurance contracts. Oversees claim management programs including the settlement and litigation of claims. Investigates reported concerns and implement corrective action, when required. Other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor's Degree. 10+ years of Experience is essential. Must have bachelor's degree from an accredited university with emphasis on health care management or equivalent. Masters' degree is preferred. Must have 10+ years of progressively more responsible experience in health care risk management. Must have 5+ years of experience must be in a multi- location healthcare system. Must have knowledge of insurance, risk management, business administration, and the law as acquired through an advanced degree or special certification such as MHA/MBA, LLB/JD, ARM, HRM or equivalent degree or studies. Should be familiar with California, Federal, and other regulatory requirements and resources for monitoring health care compliance issues.
