Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will provide administrative support to our General Counsel. Will be exposed to responsibilities generally consisting of legal research, reviewing files, and drafting legal documents. Be responsible for performing a range of tasks and managing a diverse workload with competing deadlines. Perform legal and factual research. Perform records research. Identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material. Organize and analyze information. Cross-check and validate information. Draft written reports. Draft legal documents including agreements, contracts and legal memoranda. Help prepare legal arguments and applications. Check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy. Participate in other projects and activities as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree, Associates degree, certificate program in paralegal studies, or current enrollment in one of the above programs. Thorough knowledge (or ability to learn) of legal principles and practices is essential. Thorough knowledge (or ability to learn) of legal research techniques is essential. Thorough knowledge (or ability to learn) of legal terminology is essential. Thorough knowledge (or ability to learn) of legal communication principles and practices is essential. Proficient knowledge of PC software applications, MS Office is essential. Must have strong analytical and organizational skills and strong customer service and communication skills.
