Job Overview: A law firm seeks a driven and dedicated Associate Litigation Attorney to join its Jackson, MI office. This role focuses on handling a high-volume caseload related to consumer and commercial debt collection. The position offers attorneys, whether experienced or newly licensed, the opportunity to gain significant courtroom and litigation experience while working in a supportive legal environment.

Duties:

• Prepare and attend court appearances, including motions, contested hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
• Draft, review, and approve legal pleadings, such as complaints, motions, discovery, and post-judgment proceedings.
• Represent clients in legal disputes, ensuring all cases are managed effectively and professionally.
• Collaborate with legal staff to implement case strategies and resolve matters on time.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the state of Michigan.
• Licenses in Kentucky, Indiana, or Ohio are a plus but not required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Michigan State Bar membership.

Skills:

• Strong litigation skills with experience in handling a high-volume caseload.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong oral advocacy skills for court appearances.
