Intern - Legal Services
Intern perform legal research, analysis and general support work in the Legal Services Division to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the attorneys and staff assigned to handle matters for the Enforcement section at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (TDA). Work under close supervision of a attorney or attorneys. Perform legal research and/or analysis under the direction of the Deputy General Counsel and other agency attorneys assigned to Enforcement. This will be an in the office position with limited ability to telework. Draft, format and proofread correspondence, legal memoranda, proposed agency rules, and other legal documents as requested, under direction of the General Counsel and agency attorneys assigned to Enforcement. Assist with case preparation for compliance activities or hearings arising out of administration of federal nutrition programs. Research and prepare briefs or opinions on specific issues of law, as directed or assigned. Assist with public information request processing. Assist with various special projects, as assigned. Adhere to established work schedule with regular attendance. Follow all safety guidelines/procedures and ethics requirements. Should have Graduation from a college or university with an undergraduate degree. Enrollment in an accredited law school with a minimum grade point average of 3.0; and Required to travel up to 5% of the work period. Must have effective written and verbal communication, human relations and organizational skills. Should have skill in research techniques. Must have skill in providing customer excellent service to both internal and external customers. Should have skill in operating a personal computer with word processing, database and spreadsheet software.
