Managing Attorney Duties: Oversees and performs commercial contracting activities for midstream services, primarily relating to the Natural Gas Gathering and Processing business segment with additional support for the Natural Gas Liquids business segment. Provide legal advice to management on midstream commercial matters. Legal and business obligations related to commercial relationships between natural gas producers, processors, gatherers, and marketers. Contract issues related to natural gas gathering, processing and marketing. Contract issues related to natural gas liquids gathering, fractionation and marketing. Regulations pertaining to the natural gas business. Review, research, draft, prepare and/or negotiate agreements, documents and reports on matters including: Natural gas gathering, processing, sale and marketing, Natural gas liquids gathering, fractionation, storage, sale and marketing, Regulations pertaining to the natural gas business, Corporate documents, Contracts, Legal research, Memorandum and correspondence. Retain and supervise outside counsel for company. Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job. Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business law, business administration, energy management, economics, management, or related field preferred plus. JD Degree with the following law practice experience: Experience providing legal counsel to companies in the energy industry, including matters involving the commercial relationships between natural gas producers, processors, gatherers and marketers. Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including but not limited to agreements related to the production, processing, gathering, transportation, sale, and marketing of natural gas. Experience and understanding of the regulations governing the production, processing, gathering, and marketing of natural gas. Experience negotiating, persuading, advocating, interacting, advising, and communicating effectively. Experience reading and interpreting contracts, statues, regulations, court cases, briefs, letters, memorandum, opinion of counsel, pending legislation, and corporate policies and procedures. Experience researching and preparing correspondence, memoranda and reports. Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task several active projects. Demonstrated ability to effectively use office equipment, including computers and applicable software. Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English. JD Degree; currently admitted to practice by a state Bar association; if not currently admitted to practice in Oklahoma, then must be eligible to become admitted in Oklahoma.
